Donna VanderPoel, LMSW, MS. Ed
Licensed Master Social Worker
I consider myself a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Master Social Worker. I have 10 years of experience in the field, and I have developed a profound understanding of the complexities of the human mind and the impact of mental health on individuals and their relationships.
I hold a Master's degree in Education from the University of Bridgeport, as well as a Master's Degree from Fairfield University. I am also an active member of NASW.
Driven by a genuine desire to help others, I use a holistic, strengths-based, and person-centered approach to therapy. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgemental space for clients to explore their thoghts, emotions, and experiences. I provide evidence based therapuetic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma Focused CBT, and psychodynamic therapy. I collaboratively work with inidividuals to develop effective coping strategies and facilitate personal growth.
I have experience working with diverse populations across a range of mental health concerns. This includes anxiety disorders, depression, trauma related issues, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, and life transitions (career changes, divorce, and retirement).
I work with adults and couples.
