Jane Allimant, LMSW
Licensed Master Social Worker
Jane is a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Connecticut and New York. She speaks Portuguese, Spanish, and English fluently, and has extensive experience working with couples, adolescents, and adults. She is well versed in treating issues such as anxiety and depression, relationship challenges, trauma, domestic violence, grief and loss.Â
 After receiving her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Connecticut, she went to work in various mental health clinical settings. During that time, she found her passion was employing a holistic approach to helping others struggling with mental illness to heal. She then went on to obtain her Master's in Social Work from Columbia University. Â
She has extensive research experience and is a co-author of three neuropsychology research studies focused on gender differences.
The foundation of her work is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness. She also uses Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing (MI) and other treatment approaches. Â
She believes that everyone experiences trauma and suffering at some point in their life, and learning to accept and love yourself as you are is the first step for healing and growth.
